Check with your insurance provider to confirm we are in your network. Not every provider is in every network.
Managed vision insurance is confusing and complicated. Most cover basic eye exams with co-pay and often prescription glasses and contact lenses are discounted with co-pays.
If a medical condition is identified in the course of an exam, the visit will be filed with standard health insurance (your major medical carrier)
We work with most major medical carriers. If you are diagnosed with eye issues that may be medical in nature and require further examination to determine the cause. We will bill your medical insurance rather than your vision plan. These may include:
• New or sudden blurry vision • Flashes or floaters • Dry or itchy eyes • Eyestrain or double vision • Eye Pain or Redness • Headaches Loss of vision.
There are several systemic medical conditions that may effect and permanently damage a patients vision. These conditions may require testing, follow up visits and reports to your primary care physician. This type of examination is covered by MEDICAL insurance as opposed to vision care. These may include:
• Diabetes • Hypertension • Thyroid disease • Lupus or autoimmune disease • Diseases resulting in high risk medications like Placquenil
If you have been previously diagnosed with eye conditions that require medical treatment or management, we will bill your medical insurance. These may include:
• Cataracts • Amblyopic / lazy eye • Glaucoma / previous diagnosis of high eye pressure • Macular or retinal disease • History of eye surgery
